HGV & TRuck Locksmith
ON-Site Keys & Entry

Commercial vehicles carry schedules, contracts and livelihoods. When a truck is locked out, a key fails or an immobiliser develops a fault, every hour it sits idle has a cost. AH Locktech provides HGV and truck locksmith services across Telford and Shropshire, covering cab entry, truck key replacement and immobiliser programming, all carried out on-site.

Modern HGVs use encrypted key systems that require specialist tooling to diagnose and work with correctly. We carry the equipment to resolve most commercial vehicle key programming and security faults at the roadside, at a depot or wherever the vehicle is located. No call-out charge and available around the clock.

What HGV Locksmith Services Do We Cover?

Non-destructive
Vehicle Entry

A locked cab with no working key does not always mean a damaged door or a recovery bill. Using specialist non-destructive entry techniques, we gain access to HGVs and commercial trucks without leaving a mark on the vehicle.

This is the fastest resolution in most lockout situations. Once inside, we can assess what the next steps are, whether that is getting a replacement key cut and coded or dealing with a faulty lock mechanism.

Truck Key Replacement
Cutting & Coding

Whether it’s just the one key that’s been lost, or the full set that is missing. AH Locktech supply and program replacement keys for most HGV makes, on-site at your location. Keys are cut to the vehicle’s requirements and fully coded to operate the ignition, additional storage locks and any remote functions the original key carried.

Situations where all the vehicle have been lost typically take longer than adding a spare, but the work can still be completed at your location.

HGV Immobiliser
Programming & Repairs

Immobiliser faults can appear in several ways: a key that turns but the ignition will not engage, intermittent no-start, or a complete loss of communication between the key and the vehicle. These are typically not straightforward to diagnose without the right equipment.

We carry tools capable of reading and reprogramming commercial vehicle immobiliser systems. In most cases the fault can be identified and resolved on-site during our fist visit.

Commercial Vehicle Security
HGV Keys & Immobilisers

HGV security systems have moved well beyond basic key cutting. The transponder and immobiliser technology fitted to modern trucks demands specialist tooling and software that most general locksmiths simply do not carry. From late-model DAF and Volvo units through to Scania, MAN and Mercedes-Benz platforms, the systems vary significantly between manufacturers, and working with them correctly requires equipment built for the job.

Commercial vehicle immobilisers are among the more complex systems to work with. Unlike domestic cars, HGV immobiliser faults often require a live connection to manufacturer-level software to diagnose accurately, and attempting to bypass or reset them without the right tools can deepen the problem rather than resolve it. Getting this right on the first visit matters, particularly when a vehicle being off the road has a direct commercial cost, whether for a single operator or across multiple fleet vehicles.

FAQ

Most frequently asked questions

We cover most major HGV brands including DAF, Volvo, Scania, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault and Iveco. If you are unsure whether your specific vehicle is covered, get in touch with the registration and we can for you.

Yes. All work is completed on-site, whether that is at a roadside layby, a depot, a delivery address or a private yard. There is no need to move the vehicle or arrange recovery to have key or immobiliser work carried out.

A spare key for most HGV models can be cut and coded within an hour on-site. An all-keys-lost replacement takes longer due to the additional steps involved in accessing the immobiliser data, but timing varies by make and model, and we will confirm an estimate before starting

This is often an immobiliser fault rather than a key or mechanical issue. It can follow a flat battery, an electrical fault or physical damage to the key or system. We carry diagnostic equipment to identify the cause and, in most cases, resolve it on-site without a full key replacement being needed.
